Bolt action .22's what do you use?

Marlin 981. Its tube fed and I think holds 17 LR or 20+ shorts. I bought it new for under $200 and it shoots great.

I'm new here (and to firearms in MA), so pardon the ignorance, but is the Marlin 981T legal in MA?? I ask because it has such a high capacity (17+ rounds).

Tube fed rimfire is exempt. I lived in Ma for 19 years...

I love my Mossberg 44s. Very accurate rifles. You can find a lot of good used bolt .22s fairly inexpensively. I found a used Westernfield 46b which is the Mossberg 42 for $65 here at a local shop recently. The older Stevens and Savage are solid rifles also. Just look for one that is already D&Ted for a scope mount and you are good to go.
