Looking at getting a Target bolt gun. Everything I’ve seen online points to either the CTR or HMR.

Then the Aero Solus bravo popped up and now that is a contender. Following that found the Bergera SP 18in.

The Tikka would need a stock swap immediately. I have a grayboe sitting on my T1x that I could replace, but then have to find a new stock for that. The HMR while I haven’t fondled, I have fondled the Wilderness model with adjustable stock and wasn’t really impressed.

And the final thing, I can have a Solus barreled action done by PVA in Pennsylvania, then pick my trigger and stock.

I think you’re 100% on the right track with any of those options. I’d lean towards Solus because you can pick your own barrel and if you like, do it at home. I believe Zermatt prefits fit Solus.

700 action clones will have far more options ( triggers, off the shelf barrels, chassis, ) than any big box store factory rifle. Off the shelf barrels are nice too. It'll take less time and tools to assemble an insanely accurate bolt gun than an AR.

Leaning that way too

I want a 700 footprint for ease of aftermarket. The tikkas I feel have kinda dipped in QC and overall quality last few years. The T3s used to feel good now they don’t, CTRs felt amazing now they feel like the old T3s.

Remington is out cause too much of a gamble, tho the 700s I’ve handled felt like the pre freedom group days ( these were new RA serial #)
