Well, at least he didn't leave his gun in the bathroom, but he did leave it unlocked in his car. Improper storage?
Boston cop on leave after service weapon allegedly stolen by strippers – Boston Herald
A Boston cop has been suspended after his gun was allegedly stolen by two strippers after a night out bar-hopping last week in Rhode Island, police confirmed.
The unnamed officer’s .40-caliber Glock 22 service weapon was taken while he was with the women when they stopped at a hotel bar and later a strip club before ending the night at a hotel in Pawtucket, R.I., reports state.
“He has been placed on administrative leave with pay and we have opened an internal affairs investigation,” Boston police spokesman Detective Sgt. John Boyle told the Herald on Thursday night. He declined to comment further.
Pawtucket police reported the cop alerted them to the missing gun at 3 a.m. on Saturday and the strippers were later caught, according to the Providence Journal. Melissa Dacier, 22, of Providence, and Neish Rivera, 25, of Pawtucket, were charged with felony larceny of a firearm and conspiracy, the Journal reported.
The officer told police he had locked his service weapon in his BMW 328i and asked one of the suspects to grab his charger out of his car while all three were at a Pawtucket hotel after the night out, the Journal reported, citing a police report.
The off-duty cop told Pawtucket investigators he started the night at Nara Lounge in Providence and then went to the Cadillac Lounge strip club, according to a police report.
The Journal added the unnamed officer said he broke up a fight between the women and another man at a Pawtucket hotel and that’s when they went to his room.
Dacier and Rivera were arraigned Monday at District Court, where they were both ordered held without bail as violators of previous charges: a prostitution charge for Rivera and a felony charge of assault with intent to commit felonies for Dacier, the Journal reported Thursday.
The wild night began, the Journal added, when the unidentified Boston cop connected with one of the women via Instagram, a popular social media site. Pawtucket police declined to comment further Thursday night. The officer’s identity was redacted from the police report, the Journal reported.
