An 11-year-old boy who was shot by a police officer at his home in Mississippi after calling law enforcement for help says he believes it is “because of the grace of God” that he is still alive today.


Aderrien Murry was shot in the chest by Indianola Police Department officer Greg Capers in the early hours of the morning on May 20 as the officer responded to a domestic disturbance at the home.


The young boy had called 911 at the request of his mother, Nakala, after her daughter’s father had knocked on her window at 4 a.m. and appeared to be “irate.”

Am I the only person who realizes that if people stopped acting like idiots where a call to the police is needed, none of this stuff would be happening?

When you "do shit" that requires a visit from armed, slightly jittery people to a chaotic and dark place, you are drastically increasing the odds of a tragedy.

Why can't people learn to act like civilized human beings? Why is the father irate, and not staying calm? Why is he banging on windows at 4 in the morning?

Maybe we need to bring back jim crow, except instead of limiting it to one race, we apply it to knuckleheads of all races, genders, religions, etc?

If you can't act like an adult, you're going to be managed like a child.
