A brazen daylight shooting yesterday in Jamaica Plain left residents in shock and scrambling for answers after five people were sent to local hospitals for gunshot wounds.
“There was people screaming,” said Jamaica Plain resident Julia Hernandez, 29, who was in her Washington Street apartment when she heard “more than five” gunshots. “I was just thinking of people I know and trying to figure out who got shot.”
The shooting occurred at about 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Boylston and Washington streets, police said. Three men were taken to Boston Medical Center and another two men were taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
