I recently acquired a browning 12 gauge over under shotgun made in Belgium I’m assuming early 80s

Anybody have any idea what the worth of this gun is???

I’m not really a shotgun guy and I don’t know much about them

Low end, $1500. Upper end, $2500. My estimate is based on literally 30 seconds of research on Guns.com.

Compare to other offerings online.
Keep in mind that prices right now are stupid high. And there likely won't be a big demand (niche market) for this particular item.

If you look on the side of the barrels there will be markings as you see in the picture similar to the ones listed. This may help. LOP = Length of Pull trigger to buttstock

Gun might be earlier than you think

Full = *

Improved Cylinder = **-
Skeet = **$ (maybe Browning thought that skeet shooters had beau coup loot?)
Cylinder = ***

Grade1 Citori Hunter
There are some variations but over all a
Citori Hunter is a $1000 shotgun in good condition IF you find someone wanting grade 1 hunter model

Buddy has been buying field model Citoris for himself and his boys. One was well used. Cared for, but well used and carried, $900, the others were in nice shape and went for $1,500.

I didn't study the pics, but if it shows use but no abuse, overall good shape, $1,300. Really nice shape, like it should be in a box, $1,500. This is assuming screw in chokes.

Brand new citori grade 1 hunter is 1500 new

Made in Belgium has me thinking maybe low grade superposed ?
Receiver should have model on bottom.
Possible replacement barrel?
Fixed choke?
Citori was introduced in early 70s Japan made 1975ish could be a very early citori ? Serial number would help

Guess its the market. I looked high and low for a BT99. They "should" be $700-$800 new, but good luck with that. I ended up with a beautiful early 70's Plus model with the Graco system already installed for $1,350.

Wonder which is more readily available and which is higher demand.

Every new BT 99 I have seen in the past 8 years or so was around $1200 bucks for the base model . I have seen some nice deals on used BT99s

I'm not much of a shotgun guy, but I've had a Browning Citori Trap Special Edition with the factory adjustable rib and ported barrels for years. Never use it. I sometimes contemplate selling it, but always think "They are the best O/U made, where would I find another, and what would I have to pay to get it?". I keep it on the off chance I'll take up Trap in my golden years.

Nice gun the trap special was the model before the XT

field model Citoris
I just noticed that add a strategically place "L" to citoris yields another word. Who knew?

The Superposed I have is from the fifties like the photo BarnBuilder posted. These have fore ends that are not removable without tools. The one posted above is likely a Citori.
