browning hi power mags

If there is no date on it is the only way I know of. I'm not aware of any changes to the mag design. I have 3 OEM and 3 Mecgar preban mags and they look the same as post ban mags to me.

There was a great FAQ on all the different types of BHP mags and which ones were reliable. Unfortunately, when I went looking for it recently, it was 404.

You don't, unless it has a date code printed on it. [laugh] (and then, it'd probably be a postban if it did anyways)

Except for showing 20-30 years worth of wear, most of mine look exactly like those I see coming with new guns in free states.

So if there is no date on them then it really doesn't matter? I purchased a 1980's Hi Power and it came with two of those mags. I don't see any date on them, but with all the talk of pre-ban/post-ban I figured I should inquire. Should I hold on to them?
