Buckmark Grip Question

I have a Buckmark and I want to buy some new grips for it. Does anybody have any thoughts on wood vs. aluminum? I have an average size hand so I think the wood grips with the finger grooves would be too big. Any help would be appreciated!

I have a Buckmark with wood grips that I love. My hands are large-"ish", but not baseball mitts and the grips fit me nicely.
