Has anyone heard about this? I have heard from several people that Bushmaster is having a sale and several of their rifles, including the varminter, are at a price of $550. Im trying to get the actual sales flyer and will post here if I do but has anyone else seen or heard about this?

Sounds like you might be talking about their "Tax Sale" they have every year about this time. Go to their website and get on their mailing list. I think the price of $550 is just for a complete upper. It's about what I paid for mine.
