CA - Homeowner Shoots Would-Be Intruder

A would-be robber got more than he bargained for Monday when he allegedly broke into a Valley man's house-- getting shot before being chased away, authorities said.

Riverside County Sheriff's Spokesman Angel Ramos says deputies were called out to the home on the 81-600 block of Francis Avenue in the unincorporated area of Indio, near Clinton Street and Miles Avenue, shortly after 4 p.m.

The home's resident told deputies that he'd caught someone trying to break into his home, and shot him.....
