This came in a box of stuff from my deceased father in law. I have no idea if it’s some cool civil war bayo, or some junk he got in a museum shop in the 70‘s. Its definitely old, and the leather scabbard is rotting. Any idea if it has value, or would be of interest to a collector? I can’t find any markings on it, but it’s pretty dirty. Not sure if cleaning it or removing patina is a no no, so posting around for an ID first…
