Looking for ideas for a new carry pistol. I've been carrying a Springfield XD, but it's just too bulky. I'd like something in .40 or .45 smaller than the XD. One requirement I have is no polygonal rifleing.

Glock 27, Kahr PM40, Sig 239.
Safe to assume you're not interested in a revolver?

Edit: Not sure about the rifling on those....

aftermarket barrel? i.e. with Glocks, you can solve that issue with an aftermarket barrel

Rmsport has Glock stanless steel match barrels with EDM cut rifling These barrels are fully supported and you can shoot lead. If you decide on a Glock give us a call for a barrel. $95.00 a sizes

Thanks for the info, that puts glock back on the shopping list. Also need to get my hands around a Sig P239, and a Para LDA

Yes we have conversion barrels for almost all Glocks and in all normal calabers and some wacked out calabers too like 9x25Dillon, 40Super, 400Corbon, 9x23, 9x21.5, 9x21. We also have threaded and ported barrels and stainless Glock slides.

Jeezum Crow John!
Get a freakin website already!!!! I keep finding out about tons of cool stuff that I didn't even know I wanted, but only through your posts!

I would look at the Taurus pistols as well. The Millennium PRO and Slim lines are surprisingly great guns. The PT745 has become my primary carry piece as its smaller and thinner than the Glock/M&P compacts but yet shoots great. Very accurate and comfortable little gun.

For practice, yes. I had called Kahr to ask about shooting non jacketed through their polygonal bores. They informed me it's not an issue on their pistols, as long as you clean after every session. I just made up my mind and ordered a PM40.
