70 year old ammo 384 rd $600 plus
Rather hunt down new ammo.
Although if anyone gets some I would like a crate with all the metal hardware.

You get a crate of two...768 rounds for $650; 84 cents/round before shipping. Plus 8 bandoliers, and 24 enblocs.

Remember the good old days of 900 round crates of 50's Yugo 8mm for $150.

Starting to get really sick of the fact that two thirds or so or more of vendors won't ship to MA. Top of the list being CMP. The ONLY state on that infamous list.

Now I don't fee bad about putting all all those crates of 3006 an 30 carbine ammo from the cmp on my Credit card years ago, I knew I would regret not buying it some day, Still working my way through the $60 ammo cans of loose 06

You need to look harder and reach out to vendors to see if they’ll ship if you provide a copy of your LTC

My experience is that more vendors DO ship to MA than those who don’t. I can think of probably a dozen plus vendors who do ship here

When did they stop shipping to MA?
He’s only referring to the 1911 sales. They ship ammo to MA...at least they did when I lived there. My dad almost fainted when 800rds of 30-06 showed up on his porch. He asked me if I was starting a war. Typical sheltered MA pants shitter.

He would have shit a brick when the 20k rounds of .22lr I ordered from them showed up after I backordered them right after Sandy Hook. They arrived a year later.

I think Greek HXP was the last thing i ordered from them(whenever that was last available?)

Nah, 20k 22lr comes in 4 small boxes.
I dont have a lot of cmp M2 ball left but I do wish I bought more 30car when they had it cheap.
I have enough bullets to load for the for seeable future in 30 car .
As far as SHTF I think I have enough ammo for a while. If things get real crazy I dont have a network to move it all quickly so at that point its moot.

Correct. I had to reread it three times. So $1.68/round...can get new for that.
t
yes you can and much better ammo at that point.
You could sell the crate and clips to help off set the price.
I will pay $20 for the wood crates

If it has been stored in Ethiopia I would be a might suspicious of it. Even in sealed tins, I don't think Ethiopia had good climate control.

I peeked at average monthly weather and it dry with average high in the 70's.....

If it wasnt stored outside in a field it "should" be ok

IF it was stored in Addis Ababa, at slightly over 7,000'.

Now, if it was stored in Gode:

Gode

The Somali Region (Ogaden), in the south-east, is hot and semi-desert as well. Here are the average temperatures of Gode, located in the region of Ogaden.

Within an ammo discussion, why in the world would you mention CMP? There is no outright CMP ban on shipping anything but 1911's to MA, and that is a completely separate issue that affects any and all vendors for hand guns not 'AG approved'. Besides, the 1911's are long gone excepting a few that pop up in CMP auctions. Absolutely nothing to do with ammo.

Ethiopia is a geographically diverse country with everything from jungle to mountains to river valleys to desert. Some areas are dry, some are humid. Usually consistently warm.

The real problem is that they've been broke for thirty, forty years, and have been through about nine wars (I looked it up) since that ammo was made. That means that they didn't have the money or manpower to properly maintain ammo and guns over the years.

I don't shoot .30-06, but if I did... I wouldn't buy ammo stored in Ethiopia. The guns? Maybe if I could get something I really wanted, but there hasn't been much of that coming from RTI.

Ethiopian coffee, though, is some of the best in the world. Wouldn't say no to some of that.

All I was talking about vis a vis CMP, was not shipping the M1911 pistol to MA. I did not specify that on the earlier post.

The late 1943 NPM M1 carbine I got from RTI is an exceptional shooter.
