Sorry... not much of a poster, but I wanted everyone see my new "twins." I've been wanting to go "semi-pro" with full NRA Conventional (a.k.a. "Bullseye shooting") pistol matches, but needed the proper equipment. Thanks to Lou Biondo of Business End Customs, I now have my dream pistols. Since a full conventional match is shot in .22LR, .45ACP, and "centerfire" (which can be .45ACP), I wanted to have a matched pair of precision pistols with the only major difference being the caliber it fires. This way, I can go from one to the other without having to think about it. Hearing that Lou was one of the best in the business and in my area, I contracted him to build them up for me. What he delivered was on time and beyond my wildest expectations.

For the base of both guns, he started with sequential Caspian frames, and hand built them up. For competition, he set the roll triggers (I specifically asked for these) to just above NRA regulations, and they feel phenomenal. For the 22, the upper came from Marvel Precision as a complete unit, but Lou did the rest. Since my eyes are not as great as they should be, he installed 2 identical red dot scopes on both, adding a special rail system for the .45. The fit and finish is exacting in all details. If you want more of the intricate details, I recommend talking with him directly.

The "studio" style pictures are ones that he took (my camera is not nearly as good), and there's a few more on his Facebook page. The attached target picture was mine, though. After I fiddled with it, those were the 1st 3 shots I took off a rest. The 22 is just as accurate. Can't ask for anything better!

Thanks, Lou!!!

Sweet. They must jam on every shot until you lube, file, bead blast, and try every combination of ammo known to man before a full mag will cycle without issue. You know, the whole 1911 thing.

I will give you half of what you paid and eliminate the headaches.

Only kidding. I really enjoy the platform and those are beauties.

Thanks! All accolades go to Mr Biondo, though, as I can't take any credit beyond asking for them. Also, these will never leave my possession while I'm still drawing air into my lungs. If I had kids, they would be inheriting them. However, it's probably because I don't have kids that I could afford them. A catch-22(LR)....

You can adopt me, I'll take them when you're gone. Lol

Enjoy them, they are beautiful!

Is that a slide mounted red dot on the .45? Or is that a stationary mounting rail?

A lot of folks use a frame mounted bracket so that the optics are not subject full recoil. Of course - optics may be more rugged these days.

Sweet pair....

Thanks everyone! Now I need to get some more quality range time with them. My rifle league ends in a couple of weeks, so then I'll have 3 weeks to get ready for the pistol league. I'm already shooting as well as I did with my Ruger, so I'll hopefully break 270 (out of 300) this season.

Agile_1: It is a slide mount red-dot. The feel of the recoil is definitely funky! You can really feel the weight of the slide cycling, but it's not bad at all. If anything, I feel that the mass of the scope going forward gets me back on target faster. It could be all in my head, though. The dot does get thrown around, but it's more than capable of taking the punishment. It's an Ultradot Matchdot II, which is well proven on other slide-mount systems.

More results will follow - I'm hoping to sign up for a few 1,800's and 2,700's soon.

I'm going to have house guests for awhile, so it'll be some time before I can answer that. Good question that I'm anxious to answer. You'll be the first to know.
