Bear creek had some issues in the past but I got one of there complete uppers last sale and it runs fine with everything I feed it, of course I never got around to zeroing a sight for it, so it's just a fun gun for me

Bear Creek is hit or miss.

I know someone that bought a complete rifle and it works fine.

I also know someone that bought a Bear Creek barrel that led to undergassed symptoms. Personally, after troubleshooting (exhaustively) and measuring, I think it was the chamber (too tight), but after it was sent back, Bear Creek insisted it was in spec. He eventually got a refund though.

I have a $70 Bear Creek M4 barrel sitting in my basement that I haven't built up yet. Hopefully it works, lol.

For $500 its probably junk/olympic arms grade at best.

If you really need to skinflint on an AR, you're better off buying some skinflint deal parts from PSA and assembling the gun. Even the PSA crap will probably yield a rifle that is far better than this is.

Its up to $500 now. Which still seems good.

Until you figure in the fact that for $100 more you can get a M&P 15 Sport with a superior melonited barrel and the S&W lifetime service policy.

Think about that. If your AR gets cranky after 10,000 rounds, just ship it back to S&W (on their dime) and they will fix it.

My gun dealer is still selling Core ar15 a4's for $600.00 they come with a gun case too. It's made by same people that use to make the bushmasters.
