First off not,a complaint, I love the classifieds as both a seller and buyer. However on another sight, they make you keep the ad up after the sale. I find this helpful because you can do a search and see what sold and for how much. When guys sell a gun here and delete the ad or edit it, it removes the trail and prevents is from getting a competitive price based on selling activity. I usually look at the GB completed transactions to see ballpark.

What do you guys think? Would it he helpful to mark as sold but not remove the pricing info even after it's sold?

Merry Christmas and Happy New year's

Parties usually redact postings, even if they don't delete them. Making it harder for people to delete posts will just make them redact more.

Leave them deleted Maura

The downside to showing it would be sellers pricing on the high end and buyers offering the low end and both sticking to their price because there was a previous transaction for that much. Just price or offer whatever you think is fair and if it moves then it moves.

There are some forums that make you keep the post in tact with the price. I’ve seen admins make announcements making people out them back.

I typically mark mine as sold so they clean up the forum from all the clutter... and also it keeps me from getting messages 3 years later about something that is long gone.

For shits sake if you’re focused on other people’s completed NES transactions you need more problems in life.

im waiting for @drgrant to cap off this thread with a 1980’s action movie clip where everything goes horribly wrong.

Take a screen shot of the posting (buying or selling) if you want a personal record of your transactions.

Price is highly variable based on condition, accessories, what buyer and seller believe to be reasonable for any given item, so it’s rarely apples-to-apples, not to mention basic laws of economics

I vote delete them. If it sells it sells. If it doesn’t- lower your price.
Possible NES e-auction classified section? [smile]

Do you get to see what other items sold for on GB?
No.

I vote that if your firearm for sale hasn’t sold in over 2 months it moves to a “My wife wants me to sell” section.

I think that the final selling price should be confidential. Just my .02. Jack.

The final selling price is confidential now. That's settled between the seller and buyer via PM or off NES communication.

The change I'd like to see is the seller's state of residence required in the thread title. That would be a huge search/browsing improvement for legally restricted transactions.
