Any of you guys pick up a new one? I held one at the LGS and the fit and finish were excellent, but much like vehicles I wait a while for a new gun model to be out before purchasing. That being said, it's a rehash of an existing model...

Seems like a solid choice for its purpose. I already have a Monson era DW 44 magnum that is identical to the one my dad carried on Alaska hunts, otherwise the Kodiak might have been my pick.

And the unfluted cylinder. Might not be worth it for some for the extra $100-150 but I like the looks and my 100 lb girlfriend shot it yesterday with no problem. View attachment 951896

I did not notice the cylinder. Thx.

.44 mag is not too bad. I have a 3” one.

Good on her.

I think I’d prob stick with an original anaconda, just because.

Yeah, I was just a sucker for the Kodiak stamp on the side, otherwise it's the same gun. And I agree, I don't even really consider .44 a big bore anymore after several years of shooting the various .500s and the .475. If I shoot more than 5 rounds of 700 grainers through a 4" S&W 500 mag I usually open up my hand.
