concealed carry pants

Might want to consider getting some pants tailored if you're wearing dress pants on a daily basis.

Shooters Outpost carries a wide selection of 5.11 pants.

Yeah maybe. Without knowing what is work-appropriate for the OP, we're at a disadvantage.

THAT said, Apex pants stand out like a sore thumb. You best have a closely trimmed beard, wrap-around sunglasses and wear your tan baseball cap with the velcro on the front backwards when wearing Apex. Great pants. SCREAM tacticool.

5.11 does have non-tacticool pants. My problem is the cost of the suckers. Basically, if you want something that looks like plain old chinos, you're gonna belly up $110 for the Class A's. The old Covert Khaki's could be well, but they looked like you put your bedsheets into the assicil/groinical regions. Anything else that resembles a normal "work" pant has too many seams and zippers.

I wanna like 5.11's. For a year or two, I DID wear them to work. And I looked like a damned tacti-fool. LOL

So it all depends on what "casual" means at the OP's work. I still probably wouldn't wear anything cargo if I worked in an office environment. But that's just me.

Carhartt makes khaki color pants....
That’s where I’m at. Carhartts or cargo shorts. (And I don’t care what the ‘modern fashionistas’ say about cargo shorts. I’m a middle aged white man with a Dad bod and several pairs of New Balance sneakers. I AM the stereotype. I’ll wear my cargo shorts to my grave!)

I used to be a whore for 5.11 pants, not for concealed carry, but simply because they ran tall sizes. At this point, with all the holster options out there any pants can be concealed carry pants.

5.11 Edge Chinos. They are khakis, have a bit of stretch to them so they are comfortable. I like the pocket assortment/arrangement, the shape of the cutouts for the main pockets (lets you get your hands in, provides a small horizontal section for the clip of a light or knife so it doesn't saw away at your pants). Belt loops are generous, and I like the phone pocket (slash pocket on the front right). It has the logo somewhere on it, but idgaf honestly. I haven't really polled the idiots around me, but to my eye they don't look very tacticool (no cargo pockets). 5.11 has another non-cargo pant but they are in the sort of hiking ripstop material, so a little "zipzipzip" when walking.

I don't pocket carry so I'm not sure if they will fit the bill for you, but you may give them a try given the pocket opening shape.

Graith Specialist (production stops in a week, so get in on it if you like it) for AIWB or Ares Gear Aegis for a stiffer belt, regular is stiff enough for my needs (not reinforced), but I also don't carry a full-sized metal-framed gun or anything.

edit: they're $60, so a little on the expensive side, but not outrageous. If you fill up a cart and let it sit they will email you in a few days offering 10% off your cart, so they're $54.

you're on the south shore. Get in touch with Todd May at Kydex Holsters for IWB or OWB Concealed Carry Everyday Carry
he has made me and several of my shooting buddies AIWB holsters for several different guns (M&P 9C) CZ P-01, sig p320/365's
he's made some updates to the holster that don't show on the website that make carrying in his holster ridiculously comfortable.
I use one for my M&P 9C v.1. get some Eddit Bauer Chinos or shorts one belt size up from what you normally where and you won't know it's even there. And his holsters(like I have ) are
also tuckable (if that is required)
He's a member at the Holbrook club in case you are as well and just don't know him
Eddie Bauer uses a thicker Cotton that helps conceal really well and they are super comfortable

You know carhartt makes camo cargo shorts, right!!

I cant carry at work. But recently I was with a friend, he was showing me his new Sig 938. He appendix carries. I put it in the pocket of my slacks, and it fit very well. Easy to draw, and didnt print too obviously without a holster.

One of my neighbors has one as well. He has a deep sitting iwb holster at 3:00. We were talking for 5 minutes before I noticed it, and he wasnt wearing a shirt.

Picked up some 5.11's after the famously rescheduled GOAL fashion show- I love em to death not only are they comfortable and ccw friendly, but they take dirt and stains like a champ.

Shooters Outpost carries a wide selection of 5.11 pants.
And Bass Pro/Hooksett carries a smaller selection
(not including the vanilla Tacticools in my size, sigh).

But Brownell's sells 5.11 Tacticools for the same MSRP as Shooter's.
Which means that if you want to buy, oh, say a five-pack of
Ruger Mk III 22/45 firing pin rebound springs
and can use a pair of pants, buying the pants
means the springs ship for free.

This was before the online sales tax law passed, though.

An interesting article CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ARMED INDIVIDUAL https://info.publicintelligence.net/USSS-ArmedIndividuals.pdf
Kewl article - creates pretext for all kinds of mayhem:

"Your Honor, I had to make a pre-emptive shot because the suspect
was wearing shoes/socks/underwear/pants/shirt/hat/coat/gloves,
and it says right here in this official US Sekrit Service publication
that these are indiciases(*) of individuals armed with deadly weapons".

(*) Deliberate misspelling added for the truthiness of the monologue.

  • When concealed in a jacket pocket, hood, or bag, gravity pulls that weight down - Firearms have WEIGHT
Now we know what Sheila Jackson-Lee has been reading.

I start a new job and need to wear khakis and a polo. Recommendations for pants I can conceal carry my firearm in. I have seen shorts you can put your firearm in the pocket. I either will do my g26 or g19. Thanks.

Both are way too big to put into a pocket unless you are the size of Sasquatch. A Glock 43 will fit in a pocket. Use a pocket holster.

Ya I think that depends on size of the person too and whether you’re wearing slacks (slanted pockets vs jeans pockets). I tried putting a 43 in my jeans front pocket (regular fit not skinny jeans gayness) and I may as well have put a history book in there for the printing it did or for me trying to get it out with any sort of practical speed.

Meh-maybe I’m just retarded but I can’t get anything bigger than an LCP out of my front pocket.

Are you using a pocket holster?

I've got a Kahr PM9 and that works just fine for me with a pocket holster. The PM9 is a similar size to a Glock 43. I have a 43x, but I carry that in an appendix holster, rather than a pocket -- the grip is too long for me to carry in a pocket.

In terms of printing, remember that you can't hide it from yourself. If someone is really looking at the top of your thigh, they may see that you have something in your pocket, but they won't know that it is a gun.

Yes, not a dedicated pocket holster, but the same soft sided holster I use at 7 o’clock, with jeans, it was just a trial to see if it was feasible for me.

I had trouble even getting my hand back into the pocket with the pistol in there. I’m not a big built guy, only 180lbs when I have 3 meals a day, so may just be my body type (skinny) and having bigger hands. Just couldn’t make it work for me.

With slacks (slanted pockets) it may be an easier fit, but the only time I wear those are for weddings, court, funerals.

You need to try it with a real pocket holster.

I'm 5' 9", 180lbs and overweight, and it works for me.

5.11 pants are tacticool as hell - it's so blatantly obvious that the wearer is probably carrying that it's not even funny. They're not even close to looking like traditional office slacks.

OP - you're not going to pocket carry a G26 or G19. Get a single-stack Glock, a snobnose revolver, an LCP, etc and some slacks with big pockets - Dockers work well, from my experience.

I have a few pairs of the Edge Chino pant, and they don’t belie the fact that I’m carrying.

Edge Chino

Maybe the OP isn't going to, but when I had a G26 and a G19, I pocket carried both. Just sayin'.
Hey old friend, hope you've been well. What pants are you using to conceal those pistols? I want to pocket carry a .380 but my hands are so big I can't get them in or out of a regular sized pocket when they're wrapped around a pistol frame.

this company makes some decent shit and has options that don't scream FED BOI

Thank you but these won't work for me. 5'8" with a 29" inseam. The shortest shorts they have are 8.5" inseam which are just too long for me. The clothes look top notch though!

Anyone know of any above the knee casual shorts that have a big enough pockets for big hands and a small pistol pocket carry? Down in FL all we wear is shorts, and the 5.11 shorts I've seen are on the opposite end of casual for me.
What do you mean? They are too casual or not casual enough?

Meaning not casual enough for hopping from poolside to seaside restaurant for lunch, etc. The 5.11's with the pressed in pleat just wouldn't work down here. I have several pairs of like new Apex pants in size 38x30. I should put them up for sale on here because I'll never wear them again. It's just too hot for anything but shorts, even in Winter.

Cargo shorts are too dressy? Weird.

Cargo shorts are too dressy? Weird.
It's anything but weird. I don't mean cotton cargos would be too dressy, but the pleated, stain-treated, pre-pressed heavyweight cargos from 5.11, yes, too dressy. I, or anyone else in the hot sub-tropical climate, would really stick out wearing those. Picture yourself at the beach. It's 95 degrees. But you don't wear a bathing suit, because you won't swim with your .380 in your pocket, but you want shorts that are comfy, breathable, and light. Not 5.11.

Now I don't know, it's been several years since I've shopped 5.11. Maybe they've come out with some softer cargos with prints, but that doesn't seem like the way they were going.
