This database shows includes the political action committees, ballot question committees and individuals who gave money to support or defeat the referendum question on requiring background checks for private gun sales in Maine. The data was drawn from campaign finance reports filed with the Maine Ethics Commission for the third guarter of 2016. The contributions were made during the months of July, August and September.
