I have been working through a sampling of
ammunition for my Sig P245 looking for a new carry load.
I was getting some light primer hits and it looks
like that was a product of a bad mainspring, which I
replaced. So far I have run 50-100rds of each of these:

185 gr. +P Golden Saber
230 gr. Hydrashok
230 gr. HST
230 gr. Gold Dot
230 gr. Starfire
230 gr. +p Corbon

I've got to say, I really have liked the Corbons so far.
The recoil is just a little bit stouter than the std. pressure
rounds and it shoots VERY accurately from the gun. My
concerns are that a) it is an "old fashioned" round that
has lost all popularity (no one seems to load with the Sierra JHP
anymore) b) It is expensive to shoot c)maybe
the great accuracy I have is because I use better pistol
control with the heavier recoiling round.

Any thoughts? The new HST is pretty nice, and amazingly
cheap for a carry round (~$15/50) which would let me
shoot more with my carry load, but if someone said
"you get one shot at that super-evil-badguy" I'd pick
the Corbon today.

Use that round that shoots most accurately out of your particular gun. Most of the articles I have read recently seem to stress accuracy of shot placement over any sort of theoretical "advantage" of one brand over another.

This is Federal's "new" bullet, apparently initially designed to
replace the HiShock line but with a bullet which appears to
be superior to the HydraShok. Look on the boards
(Sigforum, glocktalk ...) and you'll see a lot of talk about this
new round. Pain to get in MA, though.

It's not that painful. I've bought 3 boxes of Fed Tactical up at FS in the
past few weeks. Even if it's not in stock, Carl can probably get it
for you.

It is that painful if you live 100 miles away from Carl's shop.
