Does anyone have, or know where I can get a crane screw for an older, 1930s S&W model 17 .22 revolver. This is a specialized screw, so just any like-sized screw won't work. It fell out at some point, and couldn't be found.

Thanks

Call S&W or email. Explain the situation and I'm sure they will take care of you. I did the same with an older model 28 I had and they sent me the screw in the mail free.

did you try Numrich?

Be advised that a replacement screw may require some fitting. If the unthreaded portion of the screw is too long, it will bear upon the bottom of the groove in the crane pin, making it hard to swing the cylinder in and out. The solution is to remove small amounts from the end of the screw until it retains the crane without bearing upon the bottom of the groove.
