Crazy Grouse

When I am out on my ATV at my camp in Vermont quite often on certain trails there is a
grouse that comes out of the woods and stands in the trail impeding my travel. If I try
to move on he races along with me no matter how fast I am going (they move very fast
on the ground as well as in the air). I didn't see him this past weekend so I am hoping he
is aware of the hunting calendar or he is going to be table fare if he remains this cavalier
about his survival instincts.

Not me but there are a lot of hunters in the woods where he lives...

I was gonna suggest it's a spuce grouse til I saw the pic.
