I am seriously thinking about buying one of these in 7.62x39. All the reviews I have read, here and elsewhere, are really positive. It seems everyone loves this "little rifle". However, I am really reluctant to place an order without actually holding one.

Does anyone know of any dealers in MA/NH/RI that actually has one? The caliber is not important, as it appears all the specs are the same, regardless. If you have one, perhaps you will let me hold it ( I will be gentle ).

Thanks folks,
Chuck

They are very nice rifles. I have a 550, but a friend had a 527 in .223 and another had one in .22 Hornet. Nice

I have a CZ527 in .223 and like it a lot. The one downside on the model with the high end kevlar stock is scope position and eye position. If you do a web search for CZ527 and scope you will read about the problem.

I'm near Westwood Gun Club if you're interested in fondling/shooting.

Best,

Rich

The woman of the house owns one. Kevlar varmint in 5.56/.223 with 4-14x44 glass.

Very accurate, very pleasant to shoot.

Where are you located? Might be able to meet you after work one day if you want to shoot one.

Thanks for the comments and the offers, I do truly appreciate it. I really want to look at the Carbine, with the 18" barrel, supposed to be quite manageable and easy to lug around.

Rich, I have seen something regarding the bolt handle interfering a scope, is this what you are referring to? I did discover that there is a gent selling an aftermarket handle, to address this issue

I clear the bolt handle just fine. It's trying to get a comfortable cheek weld with a scope mounted.

Here's an article that describes the problem.

Finally found a 527in 7.62x39!

Update, Finally ordered one, in 7.62 x 39. The rifle in this caliber has been harder to find than a white whale! Should arrive at my FFL on Friday, 12/29. As far as the scope mounting issue, CZ-USA now has a weaver adapter for the 527 in their web store. I am ordering one and hope this will help, somewhat, with the scope mounting issues, that Rich, and others in various forums, have discussed.

I am really looking forward to having this fun little carbine, nice to carry as a bush gun- might get a buddy to go coyote hunting, when the season opens.
Thanks to all for your advice, comments and offers to do a hands-on.

Chuck
