She comes home at 10pm, enters the WRONG apartment, thinking it was hers, and shoots the occupant, killing him. What's the bet she was drunk?

Dallas PD Officer Faces Manslaughter Charge in Deadly Shooting

DALLAS, Texas - The Dallas Police Department says a warrant for manslaughter is in the process of being obtained for one of its officers after a man with Arkansas ties was shot and killed in his apartment Thursday night when the officer went inside, thinking the apartment was her own.

The shooting claimed the life of Botham Jean, 26, who was a 2016 graduate of Arkansas's Harding University.

At a news conference that was delayed for more than an hour, Dallas PD Chief U. Renee Hall took the podium to brief reporters on the case Friday afternoon.


Chief Hall stated that a test of the officer's blood was being conducted for drugs/alcohol as part of the investigation.

She also noted that the officer was still in uniform when the deadly incident happened, and had just completed her shift. The officer's name is not yet being released but the chief says she is Caucasian.

And they still won't name her. Police name people who aren't even being charged but are simply suspects all the time. But when it comes to one of their own, who is actually being charged? Nope, can't have that.

Good. That should be MANDATORY after any and all officer involved shootings. That and body cameras should also be mandatory. It's for the protection of us as well as the officer.

Crazy bi-arch?? Lovers quarrel? Just an idiot? Lot of things we don’t know and hopefully will get some details on it that actually make sense.

How in the hell do you not know it’s not your own apt unless you’re half in the wrapper or high? Did the victim hear someone coming through his (most likely unlocked) door and rushed at what he thought was a suspected burglar, she sees him coming and just shoots him dead right there? Interesting and tragic story for sure. But she clearly f***ed up here and looks like they’re moving fast on it before the riots start.
