Did all the manuevering by the Left kill the Blue Wave?

There's still four weeks until the election. That's plenty of time for a natural disaster or a major atrocity to occur that the Dems exploit to try to gain seats.
4 weeks is about the half-life of the average sheep's memory. By the time people go to the polls they'll be saying "Brett who?".

Not sure that it completely killed off the blue wave, but it might only be a white cap.

Before all of this Kavanaugh stuff, I was convinced that the Dems would take the house, possibly the Senate.

After Spartacus and the Di-Fi Lies, and the manufactured outrage, and the total clown show that was this process, I now think that the House is a toss-up and the Repubs have the Senate locked down. If fact, they will GAIN seats in the Senate!

Absolutely true. But the extended delay strategy by the Dims, of the BK confirmation maybe will keep the issue up front than if the confirmation had occurred earlier.

I hope so. There's also some hope to be gained from the way the 2016 election happened, i.e. with so much of the electorate preferring to remain silent outside the voting booth, possibly for fear of how their friends and coworkers would react should their opinions go off the approved script. I experienced this first-hand. I'm not a Trump fan boy, but these people cannot tolerate the idea of being fair to Trump, let alone giving him credit where credit is due. And giving him the benefit of the doubt before any matter is decided is anathema. Just doing that changed my relationship with some people.

They shot themselves in the foot again. Acting like screaming children who didn't get their binky wakes up Joe and Jane in Iowa. Also trying to destroy a brilliant man and his family over a woman's right to kill babies doesn't sit well with decent Americans.

they will do whatever it takes and when they don't gain ground in November the violence will start. It should be a wild, violent next 2 yrs. Keep your powder dry.

Here is the difference between the Democrats and the GOP:

If Ted Cruz or Ron Paul (I know, he retired) says something whacko, the entire country doesn't think, "Wow, ALL of them GOP's agree with that guy." Nor do they claim to EVER speak for all Republicans.

But if Chuck or Diane or Nancy (or Cory or Amy S or whomever) says something colossally stupid, they assume they speak for the ENTIRE Democrat party.

The party hasn't moved THAT far left. . . . yet. You don't speak for everyone. Stop acting like you do. The further they move left, the less traction they're going to get. NO ONE should have been able to lose to Trump. They succeeded in losing.

Eventually, this "we all stand together" thing will turn around and bite you. I strongly believe we've gotten there. It started with "don't assume my gender" bull. Then BLM. Then P-hats. Then Kava-NAUGH! Only those slaves to MSNBC are buying everything they are selling.

True, but it stands that they cannot erase what they just tried to do. That's like trying to erase Benghazi... good luck with that....

Most of them outside of the fringe are too lazy for violence, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some mild increase in incidents caused by unhinged leftists.

Nearly all of this "blue wave" talk, though is based on this seemingly MSM nostrum of "well everyone hates trump so obviously they will react by voting in more
democrats in response to trump" etc. I haven't fully bought into the idea that is even an actual "thing". The moonbats desperately want that to be
true, but just "wishing for something a lot" doesn't automatically make it true. It reminds me of when everyone was going "well, obviously, trump is going to lose" etc.

Media runs around blowing smoke up peoples asses constantly but as we've seen recently a lot of it firmly falls into the camp of "fake news". Only time will really tell.

And only theoretically. RvW was upheld in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, albeit modified. It won't be overturned, IMHO, though it might be modified further. So I think in reality they did it for even less.

Without condoning any of the alleged activity itself, including underage drinking, I still think it's fundamentally insane to be going back to a HS thing. You want to go back into a time machine and have this argument in 1982, fine. In 2018 it's ludicrous. You'd better know where he buried the body--needs to be that kind of thing, especially since his whole professional life proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he respects women and universally treats them with dignity. But it's how the left does business now: 1. Apply label (ignoring contradictory evidence), 2. Create narrative., 3. Lose your f-ing mind.

Nobody is touching Roe, the last supreme court case drove in a wide arc right around it.

The reality is the far left has a bunch of useful idiots they can con into believing just about anything. The invisible hand types don't like having conservative justices
seated, because it makes it more difficult for them to implement incrementalist socialism, etc. The whole roe thing is just an excuse they use to get their useful
idiots motivated. It's like "So, you people are outraged that... a justice is getting confirmed that might be able to stop you people, in some small way, from destroying the country?" ok, we'll remember that.

While this is true, historically speaking, the party that lost in the previous race for the WH does well in the subsequent mid-term elections (eg - 1994 (R), 2006 (D), 2010 (R), etc). And the media-generated hate for Trump and resultant TDS is a driving force to turnout many Dems in 4 weeks.

Will it be enough to take the House? Very possible. Less possible than it was 2-4 weeks ago.

Will it be enough for the Dems to take the Senate? I don't think so. The deck is stacked against the Dems here b/c all of the Senators that won 6 years ago that are now up for re-election on the Dem side did so by clinging to Obama's coattails. Obama was popular at the time and there are certain circumstances like the IRS scandal (handicapped Repub fundraising efforts in 2012) and some of the dumb things that the Repub Senate candidate in MO said that got Claire McCaskill elected and other things that allowed for Dems to get elected in Red States won't happen (hopefully) this time around. The Kavanaugh confirmation clown show will only motivate more Repub/Conservative voters to the polls.

The whole abortion thing is a red herring to motivate the Dem base to work to block Kavanaugh and turnout to the polls in 4 weeks. Roe v. Wade is here to stay.

The left is afraid of losing power. Look at the history of how FDR's appointments (8 of them!!) overturned precedent re-interpreting (channel Mora here) the Constitution including the much abused "Commerce Clause"(Article I, Section 8, Clause 3) to also include controlling activity completely within a state's borders b/c it might have an effect on commerce in other states! Bear in mind, this was intended for the Federal Govt to settle disputes between states and not to "regulate" (which mean make "regular" and NOT "control) commerce.

SCOTUS during the 1930's gave a great deal of power to the Feds. With a Conservative majority, its possible that some? or much? of this could be reversed. Think about the effects of this!

Mike, while you and I and few more people will not forget Benghazi, a lot of "average" people do not really care. And many people already consider that to be not an issue.

It's time for another Executive Order on Immigration barring travel from Shithole countries. Then Dems be like "Kavanaugh who?"

The left has gotten their way by bringing every conceivable issue in front of activist judges. They seem to shop for sympathetic courts on the coasts. Even though the right controlled the Executive and Legislative branches, the courts simply 'ruled' against the other two branches. This is what they were counting on going forward. Now they have lost all three. Hopefully, they do not gain control of the House / Senate.

Agreed. RvW stands.

I agree, get out and vote. And while I have voted in every election I was eligible to, I don't think it really matters here in Massachusetts. You vote for a republican Governor and you get Charlie Baker. I will vote for Diehl against Warren (he will lose by 10 pts) and my representative, the ever impressive Joe Kennedy, is running unopposed. I will probably write in Alfred E. Newman... What me worry?

Many polling companies are very liberally biased in the first place. Heck, Realclearpolitics.com tries to even adjust for that. LOL.

Just checked RCP - GOP has made gains on both sides of Congress. 49 sure seats in the Senate. Picked up a bunch in the House. This afternoon is check-writing day for me. First time I've sent more to the House than Senate. LOL.

All polls lost credibility when they didn’t predict Trump winning. They manipulated the polls to show hillary winning. People want to vote for a winner.

fivethirtyeight gave Trump a 1 in 3 and Hillary a 2 in 3 chance of winning, which was much higher than just about anyone else gave. I really don't think they manipulated anything and they tend to be right more often than most other places. When you consider that Hillary got 2% more of the total votes cast nationally than Trump did, I think there was no need to manipulate the data to come up with those numbers. A 1 in 3 chance is not something anyone should be blindsided by when it happens.

Mike, while you and I and few more people will not forget Benghazi, a lot of "average" people do not really care. And many people already consider that to be not an issue.

I personally think that Benghazi was a big deal to independents, and shitlery's callous indifference to the whole thing made it easy for people who really didn't know much about her, to hate her. As an event it didn't just flash in the pan and die down, it was always bouncing around. I think its at least part of the reason why trump was able to win. The democrats underrated how much she was hated, and Benghazi was part of this- for those that didn't already hate her, it provided a lot of fresh meat for the occasion.

Never heard of it. I'm talking about the mainstream polls, cbs, nbc, etc. That's what most people look at.

All polls lost credibility when they didn’t predict Trump winning. They manipulated the polls to show hillary winning. People want to vote for a winner.

I don't think there was any manipulation (at least in the more relied upon polls like rasmussen, etc. ) honestly I just think that their methodology fundamentally sucked in some way or another. Likely because it couldn't get "clean" results or didn't take a weighting in terms of voter turnout, etc. They might have even had a high sample right but failed to ask the right questions to determine things like voter turnout by race/ethnicity or political designation.

One fun example of shit methodology problems- you take 2 women walking down a street and a pollster stops them but they stop together; and one is an independent and the other one is liberal. One of them hates shitlery and thinks she is a piece of waste, but doesn't want to start an argument with her friend, or admit that she's actually 110% going to vote for trump. So she lies to the pollster to save face with her friend, etc, because she doesn't want to get into an argument with her. You can't get accuracy in polling without complete privacy. So at the end of that "stop" you now have "2 people voting for Hillary" when in reality one of them definitely isn't. So now you have just collected contaminated data. I could go on and on for 3 pages of ways that polling data is likely contaminated.

I also think that polling is likely to get worse as time progresses because of political threats, and the general deterioration of civil discourse, etc, people are going to be more and more afraid to go on the record about who they are actually voting for.

I think a cool exit poll question would have been an anonymously collected whopper- "Did you lie to any of your friends or family about who you were actually voting for because of felt political pressure?"

It would not surprise me in the least if that number is a HUUUUUUGE number of votes, with most of the crossover being on the trump side of the fence.

-Mike

At President Trump’s rallies I wish he would do a little less touting his accomplishment (real as they are), and more emphasizing to folks what they have to lose if the globalist/communists take over the congress.

I like the narcissistic bragging. It drives the liberals IN-SANE.

Underneath that annoying braggadocio there is an intelligent, thoughtful person exercising good judgment. It's even possible imho that the public persona is a WWF-style created personality. Trump and Vince McMahon have a lot in common.

To the Never-Trumpers I will continue to say watch what he does, not what he says. See the USA-loving patriot beneath that ridiculous fake tan.

Bloomberg rejoins the Blue Wave -

His Instagram statement:
"At key points in U.S. history, one of the two parties has served as a bulwark against those who threaten our Constitution. Two years ago at the Democratic Convention, I warned of those threats. Today, I have re-registered as a Democrat – I had been a member for most of my life – because we need Democrats to provide the checks and balance our nation so badly needs."

Yeah Mikey, following the Constitution is now "threatening the Constitution" in Democrat world.

Take a deep breath, Mikey, Republicans are not Nazis.
