Does anyone have an M&P sight pusher?

In the trade it's called a hammer and drift.
May I someday be as good as you! My experience is that some are so hard to push that they require extremely sharp blows that make it hard to adequately support the pistol, and others I've pushed all the way through with only a minor blow.

I recognize that a sight pusher is in theory an improvement over the drift punch in that it allows those with fumble fingers a finer control over the adjustment.
What do you take to the range with you to hold the gun as you adjust the site? Do you just use a block of wood and lay your wrist on the butt of the pistol while holding the punch in the same hand? Or do you have a small vice?

I have one. PM sent
Thanks!

No need to do it at the range, put the slide in a vice with aluminum, or even wood jaws. Use a vernier caliper and take measurements before removing the old sights. Put the new sights in the same place as the original. A group of shots will confirm.

I've done several pistols this way, 3 of them are M&Ps, none of those had sights that fit too tight to tap with an aluminum punch.

Sorry, I was not trying to be a jerk.I find the issue with sight pushers is this, they tend to try and push the blade, which in many cases sheer off under heavy pressure. And if you are using a tritium vial, which is glass this can easily break the vial. I use a hammer and drift because I can shape the drift(brass) to only make contact with the base of the sight. I know most folks have trouble not from the hammer and drift part, but the holdng part of the process. Like someone already posted you need to hold the slide in a stiff padded vice, firm rubber or leather works great and leaves no marring. Overtight is no good either since you can warp a slide with too much pressure. If you have multiple firearms the vice and drift with hammer will also be cheaper since you don't need a new jig for each slide profile which is expensive.
