Ok ..so I am sitting cleaning my gun ( Kimber Commander Pro Shadow II)

I racked the slide couple times as I always do after lubing the gun.... I looked down and see a piece of aluminum(?)
On it is "RSZS"... Broke back down ..I don't see anything missing. Then again not all that much about the design of Kimbers... Help me...

on this side is the "RSZS"

I've never seen anything looking like that come out of a 1911.

When you say "looked down" was that piece of metal in your lap? or on the floor?

looks like part of the Schwartz safety in the slide. Take the slide off look at the bottom near the FP. If you see a hole on the bottom od the slide, that is the piece.

I agree with Greg. It doesn't look like any part I'm aware of in a standard Series 70 style gun, so likely part of the Schwartz safety.

On floor ..thats why I'm not even sure it belongs to my gun.. Child..dog ..2 cats..could be anyones'
So if I cycle the gun and the round don't eject..da dahhhh...

Hand cycled ..NO problems ..all rounds cycled...

If it is part of the Schwartz style safety, cycling and feeding won't be the issue. The issue will be whether it goes bang when you pull the trigger.

Remove the magazine. Cycle the slide to unload the gun. Lock the slide open. Check again. Are you sure it is unloaded? Bet your life?

Now close the slide and put a pen or pencil down the barrel. Pull the trigger. Does the pencil jump?
