Any of you have have been to a shoot, you have probably seen me with Lyudmila; the black stock and stainless tapered barrel are kind of signature for me.

well, that may change. I'm seriously contemplating duracoating her entirely flat earth and then doing camo leaf with some flat black. Given my complete lack of experience or knowledge with this, I'm going to reach out to those of you who know what you are doing and start poking for answers to really stupid questions.

What cannot be painted (obviously bolt face/ inner workings of trigger assembly / stay the hell out of the inside of the chamber/ etc.), but... should the crown of the barrel be avoided? What about the trigger?
Remove the scope before painting, and paint it and the mount separately and then re-assemble, or leave it all on and just cover the lenses and then run the risk of having black patches if I have to remove/replace the scope later?
If it goes poorly and I hate the results, is it possible to undo the paint job, or is it effectively permanent; not like sharpie permanent, but stippling permanent?

Should I even bother?

The reasoning is two fold; part one, I like the look of the camo rifles; part two, I may see about taking Mila down to my buddy in North Carolina or my buddy in South Dakota to see about hunting something largeish that requires more than the great state of RI allows.

I'm sure I'll have more questions if I decide to do this; thanks for the assist, everyone who comments helpfully.

Scarecrow, out.
