Colt New Police in .32s&w long. Finish is near perfect. Grips are perfect. A 99% gun.

I was told that the TPF is Taunton Police Force. I need to check that out.

These were made from 1897 thru 1908. Serial number dates this to 1905

I can't imagine how this stayed so good. It is not refinished.

Damn!... That looks in better shape than factory new handguns I bought less than a year ago.

I wonder if the #113 is the badge number of the officer the gun was originally issued to?

I decided the Colt needed a little sprucing up...there was a little crud in some of the crevices..as seen around the cylinder release in the first pic. I took off the grips to see what was under them and to clean the frame. The grip screw didn't look like it had ever been turned and had a pretty blue head.

The grips look like they just came from the factory:

and the best part, they are numbered and match the serial number of the gun !

It's difficult to see the number in the pic of the left grip...but it's just the lighting for the pic.

This is definitely at the top of my growing collection.
