Every now and then, I ponder what difference it would have made if various developments had come in different order. I got to wondering about revolvers and pistols.
It seems to me that if all handguns had been pistols, and the revolver was a recent invention, it would be opposed by law enforcement because it doesn't leave brass at the at scene of crime. It would be that new "self-policing" hand gun.
From which it follows, the law enforcement actually prefers that a bad guy use a semi-auto.
