First impressions. The grips are noticeably diminutive, compared to a standard 1911. Put 100 rds of wwb 165gr through it without a hiccup, although I only did one string of rapid fire. The heft of the steel frame almost takes the fun out of fotay (one of my favorite guns to shoot is a 3" 1911 w/aluminum frame). The texture on the front and back straps appears more aggressive than it is. It's not, really. But it's better than a smooth surface. I would like to add some meat to the grips to fit my hand better though. Looking at aftermarket options, they seem to retain the same slim dimensions as the stock grip panels. For use as a plinker, I'm pleased with it. If I began carrying a 1911 pattern gun, I would take a look at the newly released EMP4 Contour as an option.
