A Colt Series 70 which started life as a blue gun. Slide to frame welded and tightened, Kart barrel and EGW bushing. EGW thumb and grip safeties, 25 lpi checkering and matching MSH. All new internals by E2. Slide flat topped and arrow pattern with bottom bevel and ball cuts. Hand engraved monogram by David Clevinger. Grips are Texas mesquite by Crystal with Colt silver inlays.Finish is brushed hard chrome. The client family has set this one aside for their son.

I'd love to see some of your before/after photos, even if it's to see some of the more subtle changes.
Didn't you post another recently with that mesquite grip? That's a real nice tone and grain in that wood.
 
I have to admit, that one of the best things about being on NES, is coming across a new thread started by Greg Derr. So many of us look at the pieces he creates and say to ourselves, "one of these days, when the kids are out of college, I am going to contact him about a 1911"
If you are like me, you already have something in mind.
