A.T.F., Agency Crucial to Biden’s Gun Plan, Struggles to Push for Reform
“A.T.F. needs a top-to-bottom overhaul,” said John Feinblatt, the president of Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun control group funded by former Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York. “That starts with the administration making sure the agency has the resources and leadership it needs to regulate an industry that has consistently prioritized profits over public safety.”
Last week, a coalition of 43 groups sent a list of action items to Mr. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, urging them to move faster on an A.T.F. pick, create the new office and “use the authority” of the White House to inject a new sense of urgency into the issue. “The administration can, and must, do more,” said the groups, which included the gun control organizations Brady and Giffords.
“This is a ticking bomb,” said T. Christian Heyne, the vice president for policy at Brady, which has pressured A.T.F. to move faster on the regulation.
Interesting how much they hate the NSSF now. The firearm prohibition horde used to focus their ire elsewhere, and the NSSF largely was off their radar.

IMO, the only "ticking time bomb" is when they try to push MORE restrictions down via edict that are actually illegal. They've been 'poking the bear' for years now. I just hope that enough of it wakes up to make them realize how BAD of an idea that's been.

from the article:
“high capacity bump stocks”. Haaaaa
“ghost guns account for 25-50 percent of guns recovered from crime scenes” haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

It’s because they keep changing the definitions of things.
Now ANY firearm that is missing a serial number, through either grinding it off, scratching it off, age where it never had one, or 80%ers are ALL called "ghost guns".

Just like many in the hospitals are "Un-vaxxed" BUT the definition of un-vaxxed is anybody that doesn't have both shots and a booster, but soon it will be "and 2 boosters".

Just like the ATF is trying to change the definition of machinegun to "anybody that can pull the trigger really fast".

This is true and by design. Firearm prohibitionists win by controlling the language of the non-debate.

They are counting anything without a legible serial as a ghost gun to come up with that number
don't know why idiots file off serials - that just adds to the charges

Here is a little known (or little recognized) fact:

The federal Administrative Procedures Act recognizes two types of federal agencies. One type has been authorized to issue "legislative regulations," which are regs that create rules of conduct. The other type has been authorized to issue only "interpretive regulations," those that tell the world how the agency interprets enabling legislation.

Legislative regulation (if intra vires) are binding. Interpretive regulations are not (advisory only).

BATFE is an interpretive regulations only agency.

So, DOT can maybe issue a binding rule on how many hours one can drive a Class A rig between rest periods, but BATFE cannot change the definition of machine guns.

"Biden administration officials say Marvin G. Richardson, the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, is making the best of a thankless job"

How dare he?

...and TWO WEEKS has yet to have elapsed since the last dose. "Boosted" thirteen days ago? Unvaxxed.
