So I found a site which I'm sure many of you have heard of, rockyourglock.com and this flame job of all things caught my eyes:

It does seem a bit much even for me, but I'm considering it anyway. Hell, with all of the upgrades that I'm putting into my gun, I figured this would be a fun way to top it all off. Thing is, I'm wondering if anyone here has or knows someone that had this done and how it looks in person or if there are any issues with it. From the looks of it I can't see any, except perhaps diminishing the slide and barrel's integrity slightly. I don't know though; I wouldn't think much metal would actually be removed in order to engrave the design.
Fire away people.

The thread title threw me off at first. I was expecting comments like "1-2-3-KABOOM" or the other usual banter. Unless the flames make my glock magically shoot better or something I think I'll stick with the traditional black for now. Although I have considered getting it refinished in OD Green at some point.

like a VTEC sticker on a honda adding ten horsepower; the flames on your glock will add 50 FPS to the muzzle velocity of any round leaving the pipe. instantly.

...or 50 FPS to each of the individual fragments when the gun grenades. whatever happens first. [laugh]

Whatever non-beauty a Glock had to begin with is utterly destroyed by that company. [laugh]

Ohhh joy.

Yet ANOTHER Glock thread devolved into "OMFG GLOCKS BLOW UP!"

[rolleyes]

I don't think most of us believe that. I only say it in jest. In fact I own a glock myself and I wouldn't own one if I thought that would happen.

Back on topic....

I guess it's a "whatever floats your boat" kind of situation. If you want your gun to look like something that belongs in a hotrod magazine then that's your decision. I'd rather put my money in to something that actually makes my gun function better but that's just me. Maybe if I had more disposable income I could pay to have stuff like that done to my guns. I say take the money slated for this and buy ammo with it.

What, a serious answer?! Haha, I hear ya man, I am actually putting money into my gun to make it function better. I just had to buy the DVD, "Building the Ultimate Glock". [thinking] Anyways, I was just kicking around the idea is all, but it was fun seeing everyone getting goofy about some silly flame job. Some of those links cracked me up, lol. If anyone ever sees me turn my gun sideways to fire, please, put me out of my effin misery, PLEASE!!
