I was offered an FNX 45 in FDE on a trade....the guy says it's never been fired....Does anyone have one and what are your thoughts on them....the only issue i've seen on the whole interwebs is that some examples were sent out with magazine wells that are quite flexible but that FN has fixed the issue....Any thoughts?

I've got the Tactical variant, and have only put factory FMJ 230 gr through it. Not a single hiccup, and surprisingly easy to be accurate with. The trigger seems to work a lot better than it feels like it would. The frame's rails are replaceable, which is different. I've seen the squishy mag well video. I haven't noticed any problem loading/dropping mags, but I didn't leave it lying out under the sun either.

Had one. Reliable, decent trigger. Way louder than my 1911 suppressed. Like not safe without ear protection loud. Vs my 1911 where I can fire it without ear protection with my suppressor. Same suppressor of course.

I bought one a few months ago. Love it. Break it in with good 230g ammo though. I used some of my mid range 200g and 230g reloads that work in my 1911 and they wouldn't cycle in the FNX45. Comes fairly tight. On a lot of the FN Forums people had issues during break in using Blazer, Perfecta and such.

In Mass I prefer the HK45 since it's almost identical but the 10 round mag makes for a really nice thinner grip. Don't like having a fat grip designed for capacity I can't use.

I also prefer the HK45 but have to say the FNX-45 is substantially better value and has superior trigger at least out of the box. the HK45 trigger smooths out nicely but it takes a solid 2k rounds to get there (or a wolff hammer spring). if i were committed to the 45acp cartridge i would have kept the FNX-45. it was a good gun, but i just didn't have any use for it.

My brother and I think it might be timing of the breech opening between the two. It is wildly noticeable. As in I wasn't sure my Osprey was working right on my FNX but it works as advertised in my shitty Rock Island Armory 1911. No ear pro required at all. Like dropping a book on the ground. Inside the concussion would probably still suck.

I have the Tactical version. I gotta say it shoots nice, but my Glock 30 shoots pretty damn nice too. i shot them back to back not really paying attention. After i was done i was scratching my head saying to myself, "the Glock 30 felt pretty damn good".

Many thanks for the posts here and on the other thread regarding the FNX-45...I've decided to give it a try...Hopefully, the trade goes through.

I've got a G41, and it seems way more flippy than my FNX. I have not shot with them back/back though.

FNX 45 Tactical has been on my wish list for a while now. My kid has the official FNH licensed AIRSOFT FNX 45 Tactical pistol and it's supposed to an exact 1:1 replica of the real thing and I love the ergos. I wanna see how it holds up against my USP 45.

Well the fnx is a massive gun, but I'm thinking I felt less flip on my glock 30, thst why I was left scratching my head.
Let's put it this way, the only reason it has allure is because its not mass compliant and looks tacticool. t's basically a double stack polymer 1911, it's the size of a bus, plus I hate high bore axis guns, one of my biggest pet peaves.
Next range trip I'm gonna do a side by side and actually pay attention.

1) the FNX-45 is on the list
2) the FNX-45 has a fairly good bore axis for a hammer gun. definitely better than Sig P220/P227 and a wee bit better than HK45
3) the FNX-45 is not much larger than other full size 45's or a G21, but the grip is longer due to capacity of 15. of course it's wider than a 1911 but apples to oranges there.

Glocks are on the list too, but we know the story there.
Compared to a glock the bore axis is not good. Compared to other high bore axis guns, it may be decent.
I'm just saying I'm not sure it's with all the hype, but I can't say it's not a nice gun.

For the price, buy a G21, slap in a threaded barrel (if u want that look or u have suppressors) and maybe a trigger upgrade, u got urself a nice full size 45.

On mine as well. Until I can find one I can afford I went with an M&P 45FS in FDE two tone, very smooth shooter.

Just picked up this one yesterday. Haven't sent anything down the pipe yet thought.

Love mine. It's a ridiculously soft shooter due to the low bore axis. I put an RMR on it which I am somewhat happy with, probably just need more practice with it.

update: The trade didn't go through....I was close to pulling the trigger on a new FNX-45 but went with P320 in 45 instead....I was impressed with both the FNX 9 and 45 when i handled them at the shop though.....the ones i handled didn't have the issue of the squishy magwell or loose fitting backstraps....they seem well made and I'll probably own one sooner or later.
