IWI's facebook page says they're shipping in 2 weeks, the pistol w/ stabilizing brace in 2 months.

Not sure why i want one of these, it's crazy money for an AK.

I feel like an AK works just fine and was designed for 7.62 so no real reason to spend big money for the Galil (not saying it isn't cool). Totally understand if you want it you want it...afterall, I did buy a Benelli M4 [smile]

The new Galil ACE is designed to be a better AK, improved accuracy, some features demanded by Israeli soldiers: left side charging handle, bolt hold open, ambi mag release, PMAGs, rails etc.

More interesting is this:
It features a trigger borrowed from the Galil sniper rifle and an improved gas tube that decreases barrel vibration and increases accuracy. The barrel is chrome lined and hammer forged. All of these improvements add up to a gun with better than AK-47 reliability and the capability of producing groups less than 1 MOA

It's like an AR-15, the M&P Sport II works just fine, but there's also primo models.

The original Galil was 5.56. I wonder if they will be importing those too, or if they figure the market is too saturated.

This is the original schedule, of course delayed. Looks like 7.62 x 51 is next, then 5.56.

If anyone wants one, NE Arms has one in stock. It seems really well made, cool design features, nice trigger.

Too many choices in this price range though, and I'll be luck if I can get one.
