I'm building my first neutered MA AR-15, and I'm thinking about the muzzle brake and gas block combination...

Are there any low profile gas blocks on the market that can be removed without having to remove the muzzle brake? Perhaps a two piece that clamps together?

I forgot to mention i'm using a DD rail with inside diameter of 1.22"... guess I'll go with a low profile block and hope it doesnt break and cost me a muzzle device removal... sigh....

Massachusetts.

What part are you concerned about breaking? Low profile gas blocks under long free float rails is very common.

Get a steel block and you have virtually nothing to worry about. There's not really anything to break with the gas block. Well, unless you keep fussing with it that is. IMO, it will easily last longer than the barrel it's mounted on.

I'm just concerned about having to pay to have a pinned and welded muzzle brake removed and put back on again if I ever needed to replace the gas block, but if a standard DD low pro block should last as long as the barrel, then I guess I'm just over thinking it...

IMO, you really are over-thinking it...

I would make sure to function [fire] test the upper before you get the muzzle brake pinned/welded on though.
