just put deposit on one. Any thoughts from other Gen4 Glock 19 owners on this gun? $575, is this a good price? it will be my first glock, will it be my last or will i become a convert?? [pot]

The Gen4 19's are problem free. It's a handful of the Gen4 17's that had issues with the original recoil spring setups. The revised "02" recoil spring setup for the Gen4 17's fixed the issue.

And I have both the Gen4 19, and a Gen4 17 (with issues that the 02 spring fixed).

To the OP... the 19 is awesome. I think all of the improvements are great over the previous generations. I think the $575 price is a tad high... but not terrible. If you look hard enough you can find them for ~$525-540. (not a big deal though).

Id check over on a glock forum. I have heard they had some recoil spring issues earlier on but I am not 100%
heard this as well, but glad to hear Hanwei's response though, thanks [thumbsup]
i agree $575 vs. $540 or so, is somewhat of a wash, plus they dont seem to be too well stocked yet or are being snatched up by the Glockaholics at break neck speed, so i jumped on it. $447 wouldve been nice though [banghead]

I have one. Put about 200 flawless rounds through it . The new grip texture and short frame are a huge improvement. You can find them cheaper online but after shipping and transfer fees you with be right at the $575.

Is the $575.00 for Night Sights or standard?

I just ordered a Glock 19 "4th Gen" today. $500 with standard sights or $525.00 with N/S is what I pay here in MA.

I have a Gen 4 17.

The 02 recoil spring fixed the very few FTEs I've had at the cost of occasionally getting hung up on the edge of the guide rod hole at the front of the slide when taking down the pistol. The hang up does not impede function but it makes it a PITA to remove the guide rod assembly from the gun when the end of the spring does bind up in the hole.

Glock is fixing that issue by adding a counterbore to the guide rod hole on newer Gen 4s as a running change but they will not re-machine existing slides. So I ordered a Glockmeister Gen 4 stainless guide rod with captured single recoil spring. The Glockmeister (actually ISMI) spring bears against a flange at the front of the guide rod so there is no direct spring to slide contact. That is what Glock should have done from the get go.

I still love my Gen 4 17 but Glock definitely did not do its homework on the recoil spring issue. I fail to see the need to change that system at all.

Here's the Glockmeister spring assembly.

I agree. I am all about the new grip with the Gen4, but never understood the fixing of the non-exsistant problem with the recoil rod/spring assembly?
