Good evening,

Im new to the area and Ive wanted to join the georgetown fish and game for a while now. Unfortunately it seems as the only way to join is to attend a monthly meeting.

I missed the last two months meetings due to work. I often work alot of hours hindering my opportunities to be availae for meetings. I really want to join but really dont want to wait another month.

Ive stopped by randomly and called. Is there anything I can do?

Go to a Wednesday night trap shoot. Ask around for Jeff, there aren't many people there usually so he'll be easy to find. He's been a member there for a long time, I believe he may be on the board too.

Shoot.

Ive barely been putting any rounds down range with my new Ar15.

Everyday i work till 745pm the earliest and that can instantly change to 830 or so. Just so happens the past 3 mondays the meetings have been held ive had to work late.

Ive tried swinging by on weekends but nobody has been around.

If you need to get some shooting out of your system until you can join, I am more than happy to bring you by GFG as a guest! I am also a member at Harvard if you want to check that range out too! (always happy to help out a fellow jeep enthusiast !)

Sundays at 1:00 there is almost always trap shooting going on. Same for Wed eves @ 6:30. There is also a .22 silhouette shoot at 4:00 on Mondays.

A range officer at one of those events should be able to at least get you started in the process with filling out an application etc. Explain to him your situation and ask him to bring it to the attention of the Board. You need to be voted in at a meeting. If you get your application in, and have that RO speak on your behalf at a meeting, then we can make it work. You will also need to attend a short Range orientation course too before you are allowed to shoot. Those are generally on a weekend, but are flexible depending on the needs of the new members coming in and the availability of the Officer giving the orientation.
