Ghost Gunner 3 Now Available for Pre-order. Mills AK Receivers!

Are you sure about that? I recall several years back, Cody was going on about applying for a manufacturer's license and he was describing a long convoluted legal battle where they were stonewalling his efforts to get the license. I had thought he succeeded.

I'm sure of the product they manufacture. I'm not sure of what licenses they're operating under. That's why I said it's a good question. I'd be interested in the answer too.

It would probably be a legal cluster if a group of people chipped in to buy one right? Loaning it out, letting people come to your place to use would raise flags, as I imagine buying one and charging people by the hour to use it would not be a wise thing.

I love everything about this movement. I wish I was smart enough and patient enough to get into it. Maybe it will be my retirement project to pump out ghost guns into my safe some day.

Massachusetts is the only state that I'm aware of that doesn't treat the receiver as the firearm.

There are a whole host of states that don't treat the receiver as the firearm. For example in NH, the definition of a firearm is rather vague and only mentioned in a couple places.

Here is the definition of a pistol:
"Pistol or revolver, as used herein, means any firearm with barrel less than 16 inches in length."
Section 159:1 - Definition.

Definition of firearm if a person tries to steal it from a cop:
"(a) "Firearm" means any weapon, including a starter gun, which will, is designed to, or may be readily converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive. "
Section 642:3-a - Taking A Firearm From A Law Enforcement Officer.

Definition of a firearm for hunting purposes:
"V-a. Firearm: Any weapon, including a starter gun, which will, is designed to, or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive. "
Section 207:1 - Definitions.

As you can see nowhere does NH law get into details of what a receiver is.

Can't you just sell it? It's a CNC machine. I'm sure it takes up space and you'd not need to keep it after a while?

If "I" have to do the last 20%, but all I do is put the lower in friend's mill and let his machine use code that someone else wrote do all the cutting, what work have I done?
This seems like new legal territory and I can see a prosecutor with a dumb jury having some success.

Still, it's just a mill. I can't imagine who has the pink slip matters. Just bring it to your friend's house.

Hmm, interesting. That involved charging customers and making a profit. I'm thinking of this purely for personal use. I wonder how that case would have played out if no money was changing hands.

What I might suggest, buy the machine, use it. If a friend wants to make a receiver, sell machine to him. When he is done with it, buy it back if you still want it.

It's like an escort. "No sex" then whatever happens without anyone knowing is up to the woman and due.

Here "I will let you use it, but you cant do any gun related work"

So I spend the $2K for the mill, use if for a week or two. Sell it you you for $1 you use it for a week or two and sell it back to me for $1? Again it looks like a legal cluster for group access.

Not exactly. Selling for $1 looks Ike you may be up to something. Sell it for a little less than you paid for it. Or maybe even what you paid.... These are in short supply, right? It might be worth the original price. Each person just sells it yet again each time they are done making receivers. This should work until the machine malfunctions (that person is probably stuck with it).

Even though I do currently call a machine shop my office. (we have some nice Herco and Trac machines) I believe I will be getting a GG3.

Does this simply machine out 80% lowers, or is it capable of making a complete lower from an aluminum block?

Is it capable of machining other items?

It's capable of machining anything you develop g-code for that fits the bed. my understanding is this one can handle steel, so many of the earlier material limitations are basically irrelevant

Any of these devices that requires an 80% are dumb. It either mills whatever you stick in there or it’s nada.
