Completed a few frame modifications to my stock Gen3 G19 frame over the weekend, and looking for any feedback from what you see or have also done (and maybe a little pat on the back). Gotta say, the undercut makes an instant world of difference!

Mods to note:
-Mag well cut-outs (for easier extraction of pre-ban NFML mags... Thanks MA!)
-Double undercut w/ slight texture on bottom side of trigger guard
-R+L index texture/stippling

I tried to do a uniform/pattern stipple on the index points, but it went bad, so I smashed up the dimples to make it look more like texture.... Any tips for cleaning it up more with a standard soldering iron? It feels and works fine, but want it to look a little better.

For undercut work, any tips on getting the surface finish to match the rest of the frame? Still has that machined look.

Looks good to me. I actually did the same thing with my glock 19. The trigger guard mod sure does make a world of difference with getting a good purchase of the firearm. Have you considered removing the finger grooves? Doing that also improved my glock 19s grip.

Nice job. I'm not a fan of mods on a glock honestly, but these...really...I want them on mine. Absolutely love that trigger guard rework/mod. Well done, 2 thumbs up!

Looks good. I want to stipple my grip dont like the lack of "gripyness" . I personally dont care for the tigger guard undercut, I guess Im not fond of the plastic getting thinner and weaker.

I did for a while, but had the chance to get my hands on one w/o - It felt just as good as w/ the grooves to me. As far as how it translates into improving any area of my shooting - I have yet to put enough rounds through my Glock to make that call.

Big fan of full stipple, but I carry at 1 and 4 IWB, and the chaffing is too much.

I thought about the weakening of the trigger guard because of the mods, but I've seen it done so much on all levels, that it can't be that bad.

Question for the guys who like removing the finger grooves on Gen3+ guns... Why not just buy a Gen2?

I agree, 2nd gen = best gen imo. But the grip reduction I had done took the hump off the back of the grip in addition to the finger groove removal.

Don't forget that Lone Wolf now makes a G19 frame. Its got a lot of the mods that people normally do on their glock. I think its about $200. Its a firearm per the feds, but not per MA. So you sholdn't have any trouble getting one.

If anyone has an interest and has any trouble locating one, let me know. I can get you connected wit a person who knows the law and will sell to you.

Gen 2 doesn't have the accessory rail.

Same here. I'm not of the fan of the grooves, but the rail is a must have for me. I had Lou at BEC do my G29 a couple years ago.

If the spacing of the grooves fits you, then you may love them.

But for many people, even if he grooves fit, they may be preventing you from getting as high a grip as possible.

If you loook at the grip work on the gun above done by business end custom. Not only are the grooves gone, but the trigger guard is radically undercut. I'd bet you could bet your hand 1/2" higher on that gun than a standard gun.

This is intriguing, glock grips are just a tad fat for my hands. That said, is this something I can get just by having a run of the mill ma dealer order for me? Or have it shipped to an ffl by myself? Moreover, since frames are not firearms per ma law, are glock frames something an ffl can transfer to me after they have been ordered online?

as for op, nice work! Glad you like what you've got.

You can buy a Glock or Lone Wolf, or CCF (a glock frame done in Al or Stainless) frame and have it shipped to a MA dealer.

The MA dealer must treat it like a firearm per Federal law, but its not a firearm per MA law, so they can legally sell it to you.

A MA dealer could also order one of these aftermarket frames for you. Glock doesn't sell just frames. If you go on Gunbroker, you will see Glock frames because enterprising dealers, tired of making $50 selling glocks have discovered that they can make much more if they split them up.

Guys who want a Glock lower for a .22 conversion buy the lowers, and guys who want to be able to run multiple calibers with the reliability of real glock barrels buy the complete uppers. Everybody wins.

So in summary

1) Any MA dealer can transfer any frame to you that you bought online, as long as you can legally possess that firearm.
2) Any dealer should be able to order a Lone Wolf or CCF frame for you and transfer it for you.

In both cases a 4473 and NICS check would need to be completed.

One thing I would not advise doing is trying to get cute as far as having a MA dealer split up a gun and sell the frame and slide to you separately. Glock serializes the slide and barrel. So you could end up raising extra suspicion if you ever needed to use it for serious purposes. The buyer would be squeaky clean, but the dealer could end up having to defend his actions.

As a dealer I'd refuse to split them up for sale to one person. If I was an out of state dealer, it would be a different story. An out of state dealer is largely outside the reach of the state as far as harrassment goes. If an out of state dealer shipped you the slide and shipped a MA dealer the frame, it would be squeaky clean for the MA dealer. Since he only received and transferred you the frame.

Taking this approach, can the trigger assembly and other frame parts stay on the frame or would a typical dealer want the frame stripped before the transfer?
