I have a glock 19 with a lasermax sight that I recently got. Gun worked perfect the first time at the range (100 rounds) when cleaning it after this first trip I accidentally lost the end cap after it went flying. I ordered a new end cap from lasermax and took the pistol to the range today for the first time. Now, the gun locks the slide back after every round. Even after inserting mag and trying to rack the slide, it tries to lock back the slide as if there is no mag. Any ideas? Did they send me the wrong end cap? Does that even matter? I appreciate any help.

The only thing I changed was adding this new cap onto the laser. I also tried this with two different magazines just to rule them out.

Take the slide off the gun, invert the frame andpull on the ss see if the slide stop snaps back,it should

While holding the frame upside down, it bounces and stays out. Also I noticed that while putting a mag in with the slide off, the stop pushes up.

your slide stop spring is broke or is not behind the pin, easy fix

Yup, most likely a broken spring on the slide stop. $11.99+S&H from Brownells. Looks like Midway has it cheaper, but they're out of stock. It takes less than 10 minutes to swap out the part, extremely easy fix.

Honestly, detail stripping a Glock frame is easier than field stripping an AR. You pop out a couple pins and then are able to completely disassemble the entire thing. Then you just reassemble it, but use the new slide stop.

Haha I am so used to my 1911 this is like a whole other universe but Jim is helping me out. Gives me a reason to make another trip to Four Seasons.

I just got done putting on the grip extention....god that was alot more difficult than I suspected haha. I will be taking it to the range hopefully tomorrow or sunday for function test. I appreciate all the help.
