I hijacked a thread, but it felt it was more appropriate for the new one.

How does the G21 3rd gen grip size compare to and M&P back strap sizes? Just for reference.

It doesn't. Even with the 21SF you can't get there from here. That said I have girl hands and I had no trouble with the 21SF.... but even then I still don't think you can compare them directly.

The Glock 20/21 is a true double stack. The M&P .45 is more like a "1.75 stack" which improves the ergos at the cost of capacity.

You really need to hold both and decide which one fits you better.

Thanks. I own 2 Glocks, but never handled a 21. I will say that my G36 is by far one of my favorites. I have been really impressed with my M&P45, though.

I can say, my Glock 21 gen 3 has a fat ass grip! Not too uncomfortable for me, depends on hand size. I actually find my G36 to be a bit uncomfortable (seems a little too small for me)

If you already have an M&P .45 and like it I would just stick with that. I'm not a huge M&P fan but the only one I ever contemplated buying was the .45 (mainly because in MA the mags are 10 round native and there is no gayness to deal with on the magazine front. )

I agree if you have the m&p and it runs good stick with it. The glock 21 in any flavor is a big handled pistol. I almost bought the m&p 45 but can't get past the trigger and the ma resale of a glock. Realistically a glock 30 sf has the same capacity and feels better in hand and carries easier. They just don't make a gen 4 version yet.

I have average hands and find my 21 3rd Gen very comfy. In other words it's all on the shooter to decide the comfort level. I prefer a handful over a smaller grip.

I have owned a G21 3rd gen and liked it, the grip did seem wide. I picked up a G30SF and found it to fit my med. size hands better with very low recoil. Try a G30SF and compare. You can try mine if you want.

I went ahead with the g21. Thanks for the offer to try yours. I appreciate it.
