I got a glock 23 2 gen. I took it to the range and I shot it and the slide didn't close fully. I gave the slide a little push and fired it and it did it again.and same thing the side doesn't close fully ..I cleaned it very good. It doesn't happen all the time, But WTF.Has anyone had this problem? It's my first glock. Any feedback would be helpful Thanks John[crying]

Drop it off at 4 seasons & have their Glock Armorer check it out.

I have a G23, never had any problems with it...
you firing reloads?

Could be the ammo, the magazine, or the recoil spring, barring and physical damage to the gun.

Might also be a case of limp wristing.

When the slide didn't fully close was the next round not pushed fully into the chamber also?

Try cycling the slide manually - pull it all the way back - and then let it close on it's own (without any rounds in the gun) - do this a bunch of times. If the slide is what is sticking then you should be able to get it to stick in this case at least a few times.

Then you could try loading one round at at time into the chamber manually (by cycling the slide with your hand) - and see if the slide sticks. If you can't get it to stick doing this (repeat a number of times) then it sounds like the ammo might be suspect.

I have had occasional problems like this with my Glock 22 but it was always due to the gun being dirty. It could be the ammo you are using isn't "hot" enough to properly cycle the slide.

Make sure you are using copper coated ammo - NO lead in a Glock.

Is the gun new? Maybe it just needs to be be broken in.

I used umc 180 fmj. No reloads. I am live in dighton four seasons is a long ride, But it might be worth it.I'am not sure if it chambered a round . I will check it out. If you rack the slide with no mag it's great. The slide is tight. I got it used so, not sure of the round count ,it looks low.It' funny you mention a limp wrist. IThe guy at the range said the same thing. I have been shooting hanguns for 20 years and haven't had this problen before.

Try different ammo ..............

I've found that a G23 will get me limp wristing after 100 rounds. Never a problem with other guns and other calibers, but that 40 cal is very snappy in that small frame.

It's my first glock." Be gentle". I bought it because it was like the M&p with a good trigger[wink]

+1. You want to check if the recoil spring is sitting in the right slot and the face of the recoil [plastic] rod face is not damage.

sounds possible mag problem, or recoil spring bring it by FS guns shop and ill look at it for you.Jim
