Greetings gents,

So i recently purchased a new Glock 27 gen 3. My first time field stripping the weapon I believe I didn't have the guide rod seated down far enough in the little half moon crest on the barrel. Anyways when I tried to reassemble the edge of the disc on the guide rod put these little knotch marks on the polymer frame just behind where the serial number plate is. I will post pics later on if I get the chance.

I know this was totally a bone head move, but I was wondering, should this affect the guide rod's movement or cycling at all? I think it's far enough out of the way that it wouldn't affect anything since normally this area shouldn't make any contact with the guide rod during shooting. I haven't fired the pistol yet as I haven't been able to get to the range because of work and other obligations. I was thinking of using some sand paper and just filing down where the marks ares a little bit, wipe it off and shoot the snot out of it. What do you guys think?

You guide rod mangled your Tenifer-coated slide? Doubt it.

On .40 caliber Glocks the flexing of the frame can cause the frame's steel locking block to peen a small area on the slide. It'll stop getting worse after a certain amount and doesn't cause any problems.

not the slide but the polymer frame just in front of the take down lever and right behind the serial number plate. just realized my typo from earlier, sorry about that. i'll try to post some pics when I get home from work. thanks guys.
