does anyone else's glock 29 require a VERY firm push to get the magazine all the way in? It seems to go in 90% of the way, and then the remaining 10% requires a very firm push.

This is just when the magazine is loaded, not when empty. The only modification from stock condition were the addition of Pearce grips at the magwell bottom and a slightly heavier stainless steel recoil spring.

If the slide is closed then what is happening is that the top round is pushing into the bottom of the slide which will further compress the mag spring. I'd say this is normal. I assume the mag is full. If you remove a few rounds from the mag and the effort to get the mag in is lessen I'd say that would explain it.

Yes, if you load to capacity (10 rounds) you will have to slap the mag base with your hand to get it to engage.

My G33 is the same way. With a full mag it requires a little more effort to engage it the whole way.
