I am looking at a Glock 37 .45 GAP at an out of State Dealer. The Glock is on the Mass Approve Roster .. it is being sold with a 10 rnd Clip and its selling for less than 400$ delivered is it worth my time and money or is it a too good to pass up price.

A couple of pointers:

-.45 GAP is a dead caliber; (or pretty close to it). Good luck finding ammo
for it. Even for reloading it sucks because there is no cheap brass for it.

-You probably won't be able to import it into MA via an FFL because it still
doesn't meet the AG's dumb regs. Just being on the roster is usually not
enough. Please read the compliance faq stickied in the MA gun laws subforum, for more info on this.

Thanks I didnt realize the .45 GAP was a hard to find ammo that in itself kills it for me

If someone is willing to sell it to you,you can buy it but as drgrant said, ammo will be a problem. The price is very good by Ma standards but I think the caliber would kill the resale value.

I agree it is tempting the price is actually $397 delivered and is in new condition

Sounds tempting ,but ammo might eventualy be hard to come by . I have see a few website selling GAP in bulk for $480 per 1k.
Also nobody makes a conversion barrel so you wouldn't be able to switch calibers.

1. It's not a "clip"
2. You won't be able to transfer the Glock into MA. It doesn't meet the attorney general's criteria but if it was manufactured before 1998 it is grandfathered in.
3. I've never shot GAP but ammo is hard to find.
4. It's a magazine.

I've actually seen quite a bit of GAP on shelves, at least compared to more common calibers. I know when I'd stop by Cabelas in East Hartford during the peak of the ammo shortage they would always have a decent supply of 45 GAP, 357 SIG, and TONS of 5.7 (at least 2 cases worth just on the shelf, more in the back). I've always seen GAP at AAA in West Springfield as well.

Interesting .... Wikipedia lists the New York State Police as 45GAP adopters. Not sure if that is current info or not?

Availability/cost is not such a big deal if you are a large agency using factory new ammo bought directly from the manufacture in hundred case lots. Obscure calibers are a bigger difference if you are trying to buy ammo at wally world, or get inexpensive brass for reloading.
