Hello!!

I have an early Gen3 Glock 23, I also have an old Gen2 Glock 19 slide that I interchange onto the G23 frame when i feel like shooting 9mm, and it works flawlessly. I just recently acquired a new (2010) Glock 23 RTF (fish gill slide). So my issue is, when I switch slides and frames between the 2 G23's, they work fine, no issues, but when i switch between the RTF frame and the G19 slide the trigger has to be pulled way back, and with some great force before the trigger breaks, almost to the point where the trigger nearly bottoms out. Is there something I can change out on the G19 slide to make it work with the RTF frame and still work with the Gen 3 23??? Thanx

I'm totally lost on the issue here.

Are you trying to use g23 RTF slide on g19?

There are differences between 9mm and 40 lowers, not just in G19/23 but also in full size and compact frames. 9mm doesn't "always" work with 40teys.

From what you are describing, it sounds like trigger bar has a tough time disengaging the firing pin's hook, hence you really need to down it hard. Check for roughness on surfaces first. Also check for obstructions that prevent trigger bar from going down. Otherwise it could be just that the hook is too low in relation to the rails, therefore the end of the trigger bar needs to dive deeper to disengage.

The G19 slide works fine on my Gen3 G23 frame.

The Gen2 G19 slide on G23 RTF frame has the trigger issue.

Not sure what is different between the Gen3 frame vs the RTF frame??, I'm wondering if the RTF frame is considered a Gen 4 frame and not compatable with Gen 2 slide??? It's strange???

The issue is with the locking blocks. The blocks between 9mm and .40 are slightly different, so the locking blocks from an early gen 3 and later gen 3 may be different

NO, locking block's job is to unlock the barrel. If that's his problem, then may be yes, but they are identical in their functional dimensions.

What you are describing is the issue with the last stage of the trigger bar motion. It sounds like the trigger group housing sits too high, thus the trigger bar's end does not disengage striker hook in time (too late). Take a picture of two frames, side by side, with slide off, with trigger bar in all forward and in all back position (2 photos) than this should resolve this mystery.

I think i see what it is?? The connector/ disconnector??? doesnt go as far back on the RTF as the Gen 3, there is a stop on the RTF. The thing that sticks up (don't know the parts, sorry) isnt going as far back to push up the button on the slide????? I must say the trigger on the RTF is not indicitive of a normal Glock trigger, there is no "wall". Its very smooth and breaks super crisp, reset is ridiculously short, its very nice!!!

So what do i change without ruining the RTF trigger??
Maybe i'll just use the gen 3 frame for the 19 slide??
