Glock trigger issues

I have a glock 17 (gen 1 I believe) and have been having some trigger issues. I got it used and it ran fine for around 800+ rounds but now the trigger is doing some weird stuff when I dry practice. I rack the slide, the trigger resets, then I press the trigger and I get a small plasticy click. The fire pin is not released, and the action does not go dead (meaning I can keep dry firing like this and the trigger will stay active without me having to rack the slide. This happened a few times and then the gun will all of a sudden work for a shot or two. sometimes it helps if I shoot the gun upside down (dont ask...) or "gang style" (90 degree tilt (insert glock joke here)).

any ideas?

drop it off at a glock armorer and for under $100 he will tune it up and replace the worn out parts. Your gun will be like new afterwards.

huh... I first assumption is the connector. They are actually pretty sensitive. If it isn't just the right angle, no bang.
I'd try messing with that a bit since I imagine it's not your carry. Or have a fellow glocker take a look?

Prob best to have an armorer go through it if it's a stock Gen I with lots of rounds thru it tho.
I have a Gen II just refurbished from Glock before I purchased it, the thing is like brand spankin' new including the slide finish.

I'm sure the Glock aficionados on here will pipe up quickly too.

Also, I did get a loan wolf 3.5# connector at one point for my G17 and it felt like garbage. I took it out n thru it in the stuff pile. I polished and ever, EVER so slightly tweaked the one that came with it and have loved it since. I know people praise the loan wolf stuff so I assume I got a bad egg. Perhaps Glock replaced the original during the refurb, maybe not, but I really like it.

Did you remove the slide and visually inspect the internals?

Maybe a broken trigger return spring and the plastic click noise is the trigger safety clicking on the frame. Be careful if it is because you can chip the frame.

Sounds a bit pricey. Plenty of qualified people will look at it for free. Any chance you can get to Hopkinton on a Wed night or Sat AM?

I said under $100 to cover all the armorers out there that do the tune ups.

$70 is Business End Custom's tune-up price.
$75 at Four Seasons

They will all look at it for free and tell you what's wrong with it.
I assumed since a Gen 1 (possibly 25+ years old) with over 800 rounds known by the OP in it (countless others that he may not knopw) that it just needed a full tune up to start. It never hurts just replace everything. It's cheap insurance.

$75 is not unreasonable if any pricey parts are replaced from an armorer's inventory (the firing pin, locking block and extractor are the expensive ones), but is not cheap if the go-over just includes either no parts of some trivial part. No, I couldn't imaging running a business and charging less while still covering overhead, so it's not a criticism - just an observation.

A Glock Armorer can often get the factory to ship out replacement parts for broken items at no charge, however, Glock will not ship out parts to someone who does not have a factory certification - which is why I am spending next Tuesday renewing mine.

You can also send it back to Glock. They replace most internals for free. Refinish slide and barrel $60. New night sights $57. The only downside is the shipping cost $60 from MA. They pay return shipping.

Not if you have an FFL ship it for you. They can send it priority mail and it doesn't cost that much.

Thanks Mike that is good to know! I have to say that the look on the FedEx person's face when you say there is a firearm in the box is priceless. " Is it loaded!?!?" I kid you not.
