I have (2) 38 Specials, a Colt Police Positive and a Smith & Wesson. One is 30 years old and the other is 34 years old but both are in great shape with the blueing still a high gloss. I was told to keep it that way I should use a Jewelers non silicone Polishing Cloth. Any body have any idea as to where I can purchase one. I went to a Jewelers Equipment Supplier and even they weren't sure of what I was looking for. If anybody has any suggestions they would be appreciated.

If the jeweler's polishing cloth is like a Cadee Cloth, I wouldn't use anything like that on a blued gun, because they are impregnated with abrasives, albeit fine ones. They actually remove material, along with the tarnish. For a blued gun, just an oily rag. I am not a fan of silicone, either, as it makes wood nigh impossible to refinish.

Thanks. I just bought a Polishing Cloth from Brownell's that is advertised as a Microfiber Polishing Cloth. When it arrives I'll see if it contains any abrasives. The last time I was cleaning one of the 38's I sprayed cleaner on it lightly then got a phone call. Needless to say when I got back to the gun and wiped it down the bluing was spotted. I'm trying to remove the spots. Thanks again!
